Install Sim Racing Studio and Connect the Platform

Modified on Thu, 10 Sep at 3:10 PM

Sim Racing Studio (SRS) connects a Windows PC to your DOF Reality platform and converts supported simulation telemetry into motion. Complete the connection before configuring a title.

Install SRS

  • Download Sim Racing Studio.
  • Install Sim Racing Studio.
  • Connect the platform to the PC by USB as shown in the assembly guide.
  • Close other software that may try to control the platform during setup.

Activate the License

In SRS, open SETUP → License, enter the license key supplied for the platform, and select Activate. If you cannot find the license email, check spam or junk mail as it was included in the email when your platform shipped. The license status should show as valid before normal use.

Select the Platform

Open SETUP → Hardware.

Scroll to the MOTION section.

Set Enabled to On.

Select DOF REALITY as the manufacturer.

Select your platform model.

Select SAVE.

Wait up to 30 seconds for Motionbox status to update.

Check Motionbox Status

•  Green: Platform connected and license activated

•  Yellow: Platform connected but license not activated

•  Red: Platform not connected

If the status is yellow, return to the license page. If it remains red, check power, USB, and the selected model, then restart the PC once. Use How to Manually Connect a DOF Motion Platform with a PC if needed.

Do not update firmware as a general connection fix unless DOF Reality Support specifically recommends it.

Console Users

PlayStation and Xbox users should follow Console Setup with MagicBox. MagicBox runs the SRS interface for supported console titles and must be connected as directed before testing motion.

Connection Checklist

•  Platform power and USB are connected correctly.

•  The SRS license is valid.

•  Motion is enabled.

•  Manufacturer and model are correct.

•  Settings are saved.

•  Motionbox remains green.

Next Step

Continue to Run Your First Movement Test. Do not configure a simulation until the platform passes the SRS motion test.
