Install Your Seat, Wheel, Pedals or Flight Controls

Install the seat and controls securely, keep the platform balanced, and plan cable movement before testing. Use the mounting instructions supplied with each DOF Reality bracket or accessory.

Install the Seat

Use compatible seat rails, bottom mounts, or approved adapters. Center the seat on the frame and tighten all mounting hardware. Lock adjustable rails before anyone sits in the platform. Confirm that the seat does not contact the frame, floor, control boxes, or surrounding objects through the platform's motion range.

Racing Controls

Attach the wheelbase and pedals to suitable mounting plates. Install the shifter and handbrake on their correct brackets. Heavy direct-drive wheelbases must be mounted securely and positioned so their weight does not create poor balance. Adjust the seat, wheel, and pedals for comfortable reach before final cable routing.

Flight Controls

Attach the joystick, yoke, throttle, collective, and rudder pedals using the appropriate brackets. Confirm that long stick extensions or offset controls have enough clearance during full platform movement. Avoid placing heavy controls far from the center unless the platform and mount are designed for that arrangement.

Check Balance and Load

The complete moving load includes the user, seat, controls, mounts, and anything attached to the platform. Keep the load within the limit for your model and distribute equipment as evenly as practical. If one side sits noticeably lower or movement changes after adding equipment, turn off power and review the mounting position and balance before continuing.

Route Control Cables

Leave enough slack for steering, pedal, seat, and platform movement. Secure excess cable away from motors, rods, joints, seat sliders, and pinch points. Keep moving cables separate from stationary furniture and displays. Do not make final cable ties until the first movement test confirms the route.

Before Testing

•  Seat and rails are tight and locked.

•  Wheel/pedals or flight controls do not shift under normal use.

•  Mounts and accessories remain inside safe clearance.

•  Platform load is within the model limit and reasonably balanced.

•  Every cable has controlled movement slack.

•  The power-disconnection method remains accessible.
