What to Expect When Your Platform Arrives

Modified on Thu, 10 Sep at 2:46 PM

Your DOF Reality platform may arrive in several large, heavy boxes. Accessories can be packed separately and may arrive at a different time. This article explains what to do before assembly begins.

Before Delivery

Choose a dry, secure place for the boxes and clear a path from the delivery point to your setup area. Arrange help for lifting and moving the packages; do not drag or drop them. Have a phone ready to photograph the shipment before it is opened, especially if a box looks damaged.

When the Boxes Arrive

Count the packages and inspect every side for crushing, punctures, water damage, torn seams, or exposed parts. Minor scuffs on a shipping carton are common, but photograph any significant damage before moving or opening the box. If the carrier asks for a signature, note visible damage with the carrier when possible. Do not refuse the entire shipment unless instructed by DOF Reality Support.

Separate Deliveries Are Possible

The platform and accessories may not travel together. Tracking can also be issued at different times. If one box arrives first, compare the package count with all tracking information before reporting it missing. Keep every carton closed until you are ready to inspect its contents in a clean workspace.

Moving the Boxes Safely

•  Use two people for heavy or awkward boxes.

•  Use a suitable hand truck or dolly when available.

•  Lift from stable areas of the carton, not straps or torn cardboard.

•  Keep boxes upright when marked and protect them from rain or moisture.

•  Do not allow children or pets around the delivery area.

Before You Begin Assembly

Inspect the contents of each box before discarding anything. Small hardware, cables, tools, and accessory parts may be packed inside larger frame components or smaller internal boxes.

Keep all packaging until the platform is assembled, connected, and successfully tested. Original packaging may also be useful if a part must be identified or transported later.

If Something Is Damaged or Missing

Do not power a damaged motor, control box, cable, plug, or structural component. Keep the item and packaging together and take clear photos of:

•  The full box and shipping label

•  The damaged area of the carton

•  The affected component from several angles

•  Any part number, label, or connector involved

Contact DOF Reality Support with the photos, the missing or damaged item, and the number of boxes received. Support will tell you whether setup can continue safely.
