Console Setup with MagicBox

MagicBox allows supported PlayStation and Xbox titles to send motion telemetry to your DOF Reality platform without a Windows PC. Use a phone, tablet, or computer browser to complete setup and adjust Sim Racing Studio settings.

Before You Begin

•  Confirm that your exact console title is included on the supported console list.

•  Connect the MagicBox and console to the same home network.

•  Use wired Ethernet when possible. It provides the most stable connection and helps prevent motion delay.

•  Have your MagicBox license key available.

Connect with Ethernet

Connect an Ethernet cable from the MagicBox to your router.

Connect the supplied USB C power adapter to the MagicBox and a wall outlet.

Wait approximately two minutes for the MagicBox to start.

On a phone, tablet, or computer connected to the same network, open a browser and go to http://magicbox.local.

Wait for the Sim Racing Studio screen to load.

An Ethernet cable is not included. Do not connect an Ethernet cable when using the Wi Fi setup method.

Connect with Wi Fi

Power the MagicBox and wait approximately two minutes.

Open the Wi Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or Windows computer.

Join the network named MAGICBOX XXXXX using the password dofreality in lowercase.

Open a browser and go to http://magicbox.local.

Select your home Wi Fi network, enter its password, and choose Connect to Wi Fi.

Allow the MagicBox to restart, reconnect your device to the home network, and reload magicbox.local.

For the best Wi Fi performance, keep the MagicBox close to the router and use the fastest available network. The MagicBox and console must use the same network connection.

Activate and Configure

In Sim Racing Studio, open SETUP, then License, and enter the MagicBox license key. Next, follow the setup instructions for your specific console title. Some titles require telemetry or network settings to be enabled inside the title before motion will work.

Start with the default profile and low motion intensity. Keep the platform unoccupied while confirming the first motion response.

If MagicBox Does Not Open

Confirm that the MagicBox has been powered for at least two minutes and that your device is on the same network. Try http://magicbox.local again. If the page still does not open, restart the MagicBox and router, then use the full MagicBox troubleshooting article to locate its network address or recover the connection.

Once the interface opens, the license is active, and the supported title sends telemetry, continue with a low intensity motion test before normal use.
